This progressive and dynamic Freight Forwarding company would like to appoint an experienced Exports Controller (Air & Ocean) to join their Cape Town team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric/Senior Secondary Qualification (NQF4)
  • Minimum of 2+ Years’ experience within an Exports Controller position
  • Minimum of 2+ Years’ experience in a Freight Forwarding Operational Environment (Air & Ocean Freight)
  • Fully computer literate in all MS Office Suite Applications
  • Must have at least 1 year working experience on Cargo Wise (pre-requisite)
  • Must have a valid, unendorsed drivers’ licence
  • Own vehicle (advantageous)

Key Performance Areas will include but not be limited to:

  • Monitor, control shipments from supplier consignee
  • Ensure clear communication between customers, agents, and service providers
  • Monitor cargo tracing and track& trace all shipments to destination
  • Responsible for registering and updating of all files
  • Costing Sheets: ensure debtors files are submitted for invoicing
  • Framing customs compliant import/export entries
  • Ensure timeous and correct capturing of information
  • Spilt documentation and invoice
  • Ensure booking of Cargo, monitoring loading dates and keep clients update and informed
  • Responsible for all preparation of export documentation
  • Expedite clearance of outbound and inbound shipments
  • Ensure that all paperwork is correctly completed and documented
  • Generate export documentation
  • Complete registration of export files
  • Processing and submission of documentation - export Bills of Entry
  • Framing customs compliant import or export queries
  • Ensure that all tariff headings are correctly applied
  • Report directly into the General Manager
